Sandkasteel

The world famous Garden Route on South Africa’s Eastern Cape, houses a number of gems, Sandkasteel being one of them. Named after the Afrikaans phrase for “castle on the sands”, this is an amazing guesthouse for backpackers and other tourists travelling along the coast. The complex has two units; three and six sleeper en-suite bedrooms. Each has its own private garden, security and kitchen. A stay at Sandkasteel is incomplete without doing some recreational activities in the Jeffreys Bay area. The bay hosts a flurry of events throughout the year, including the Billabong Pro Jeffreys Bay surfers’ competition. Besides South Africans, this tournament is popular with American and Australian surfers therefore experience an international atmosphere with this experience all being based at Sandkasteel. Jeffreys Bay, also simply known as J-Bay, was made famous as a surfers’ destination by the movie Endless Summer, which was released in 1966.
