Albertyn St Beach House

The pretty seaside town of Arniston, also known as Waenhuiskrans, which means “Wagon Shelter Cliff” in Afrikaans, lies on the Marcus Bay shoreline just north-east of Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of Africa. The name “Arniston” is derived from the Arniston shipwreck that sank here in 1815. Albertyn St Beach House lies in thissoothing town and is a secluded and homey guest house equipped with facilities such as a microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, a TV with full DSTV and braai facilities. There is much to do and see in Arniston and nature-lovers will be enthralled by the De Hoop Nature Reserve, which conserves a major wetland and is home to almost 100 aquatic bird species and many migratory birds. In fact, the entire coast is a marine reserve and is one of the biggest in Africa. One can find the rare African Black Oyster Catcher, the Southern Right Whale and at least 250 species of fish here and they are all protected.
