Agincourt Guest House

Situated amidst rolling farmland and vineyards in the foothills of the Middagkrans Mountain, Agincourt Guest House accommodation is the ultimate country retreat for a really relaxing holiday.

The Franschhoek village with its many world-class restaurants, bars and cafés is just a short walk away down the rustic lane.

And yes - size does count! Agincourt is an enormous farmhouse built in the grand Manor House style where all the rooms are high ceilinged and spacious. The accommodation is superbly decorated and furnished with much loved antiques, all the beds are kingsize, one of the lounges is 16 metres long and is home to a beautiful rosewood boudoir grand piano, and even the swimming pool is large. The braai room, which leads out to the pool deck, has durable cane furniture to withstand wet feet and swimming costumes, a built-in braai for informal meals, fridges for perishables, drinks, and ice, and a plasma screen television for those all-important rugby matches!

Middagkrans Mountain

There is breathtaking panoramic views in every direction: the wrap-around stoep and pool terrace encourage serious inactivity, and are furnished with comfy cushioned loungers, chairs, and tables, and pool towels are provided.

Of major importance in a bed and breakfast establishment are the beds - and a good night's sleep is assured.. Away from the annoying crowds, without a whisper of road traffic noise to disturb peaceful sleep, slowly wake to the glories of yet another beautiful morning. Take the time to enjoy morning tea or coffee in the privacy of your lovely room and gently absorb the magnificent pastoral views in every direction. Then, after a leisurely toilette, consider taking a gentle meander round the garden accompanied by industrious chickens (who have been producing the breakfast eggs) and friendly dogs (who tirelessly guard the best armchairs) and breathe deeply of the pollution-free air. Having refreshed your soul, amble back to the house for a delicious farmhouse breakfast served either in the dining room, or out on the pool terrace. Here, time is of no importance, and relaxation is of the essence.

Alternatively, awake at first cock-crow, leap energetically out of bed, thrash around in the shower and gallop down to a hearty breakfast before rushing off to take full advantage of all the exciting offerings in the local boutiques, bars, museums, wine farms and restaurants. Do wine tasting on horseback, go mountain biking, or hike through our local nature reserve - its all good! Then, before you have time to get bored, throw yourself into the pool for 100 laps, have a delicious cup of tea (or something stronger) and we'll help you plan the rest of your day, culminating in booking you into one of the many fine dining establishments we have in the village, and helping with transport if necessary.
